The CAOS Charity Foundation

The CAOS Charitable giving foundation (in association with HSBC) was setup in 2009.

So far we have given to the following good causes:

 

2012 / 2013

 

Cockett Amateur Operatic Society (CAOS) in association with HSBC continues its charitable giving with CAOS' Charitable Giving Foundation.  Two donations of £250 have been given this year to very deserving local charities.

 

CAOS in association with HSBC Charity Scheme have donated £250 to the Heart Foundation in Singleton Hospital in memory of Christopher Waring Davies our friend and musical director who sadly passed away earlier this year.

 

Our Chairman Derek Jones, Alun Tregelles Williams, together with HSBC employee Tim Drean  are shown presenting the cheque to Dr Clive Western during rehearsals on 29th November 2012.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CAOS in association with HSBC Charity Scheme have donated £250 to the Respiratory Fund in Morriston Hospital in memory of Fred Smith who was a long standing member of the society who sadly passed away earlier this year.

2011 / 2012

 

Cockett Amateur Operatic Society (CAOS) in association with HSBC continues its charitable giving with CAOS' Charitable Giving Foundation.  Two donations of £250 have been given this year to very deserving local charities – Local Aid and the Christian Lewis Trust.

Local Aid is a charity and voluntary organisation based in Swansea that raises awareness of the needs and aspirations of young people with special needs. The organisation provides specialist equipment; arranges travel support, specialist services and activities for young people with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in our local communities. It supports young people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities, and promotes the rights of individuals to be supported to reach their potential.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christian Lewis Trust, Kids Cancer Charity celebrated its 22nd Anniversary last May and during this period of time many hundreds of families have benefitted from their unique understanding of what it means to have a child affected by a cancer, offering offer care on an individual and personal level that focuses on issues that relate to the quality of life for the children and their families.

One of our own CAOS society members, Jack Roberts is running the London Marathon for the Christian Lewis Trust, and CAOS is very proud to support him in fundraising for this very worthy cause.

2010 / 2011

This year CAOS has in association with HSBC Charity Scheme donated £250 to the Friends of Stepping Stones and Prostate Cancer Unit at Morriston Hospital.

Stepping Stones Children's Centre provides services for pre-school children who have an emerging or diagnosed disability. At Stepping Stones, children take part in activities both in a group, and working one-to-one with a project worker. Play workers are also on site to facilitate play and learning opportunities and to be with children between one-to-one sessions.

Friends of Stepping Stones is an organisation that collects funds on behalf of Stepping Stones and gifts these funds to the Centre for appropriate projects.

The funds donated by CAOS (funded by HSBC Charity Scheme) will be particularly helpful towards the cost of ongoing project work
