SOUTH WALES EVENING POST REVIEW
"The word amateur can hardly be applied to Cockett Amateur Society's bright and breezy production of this well loved musical comedy, revolving around the consequences which ensue when a streetwise Cockney lad is thrust into high society.
Director Kathryn Rice has assembled a first rate cast with talented newcomer Neil Owens and the charismatic Cerrian Forrest doing a tremendous job as romantic leads Bill and Sally - but theirs are by no means the only notable contributions to this very enjoyable show.
Other stand-out performances come from Cath Fraser as the calculating Lady Jacqueline ( a well rounded performance in every sense of the phrase), Anne Nicholas as the Duchess of Dean, Ken Thomas as Sir John Tremayne, Mark Warren as the upper-class twit Gerald Bolingbroke and veteran player Gwyn Lewis as Herbert Parchester.
Mary Isaac and Lyndy Harding also appear as Lady Battersby and Mrs Brown.
Musical Director Lynne Powell and choreographer Julie George deserve credit for their hard work, but catchy songs and nifty footwork are only the half of it: the laughs come thick and fast and it rapidly becomes clear that this is a very happy show in which the performers are having just as much fun as the audience.
Anyone with a penchant for musical comedy would be well advised to give it a try."
